Elldus Resort is located in one of the most beautiful low mountain ranges in Europe, which is also the natural border between Saxony and Bohemia. The highest elevations of the Ore Mountains are the Fichtelberg (1215 m above sea level) in Germany and the Keilberg (1244 m above sea level) in the Czech Republic. The region is also characterized by all kinds of customs and traditions. Especially the wood and carving art, mining and Christmas traditions are still traditionally lived here today. Since 2019, the motto for the Ore Mountains/Krušnohoří Coal and Steel Region has also been "Hurray, we're a World Heritage Site!".

During the Christmas season, "Schwibbögen" and "Weihnachtssterne" shine in the windows, and living rooms are decorated with Erzgebirge folk art, such as nutcrackers and miners, which have been collected over generations. Christmas pyramids make their rounds, and the "Raachermannl" (smoking men) spreads its incense scent.
